I am sorry to say that some bankruptcy lawyers advertise fees as low as $499; however, once they get you in the door, they will tell you the $499 only covers the first visit and that if you want them to give you forms to fill out, that it will be another X dollars; if you want your case filed electronically, it will cost another X dollars; if you want them to go to court with you – you got it – another X dollars.
